L.A. Noire PC Is Locked at 30 FPS

To those who have been looking forward to the PC version of L.A. Noire, you may be disappointed to learn that your framerate will be locked at 30 frames per second, not unlike most console ports. Some of you may be thinking, “So what? If 30 FPS is good enough for consoles, shouldn’t it be good enough for PC?”Well, yes and no. Some people don’t notice the difference, but many do — 60 FPS delivers a much smoother experience, especially when there’s a lot going on on-screen. For twitch shooters, the difference between 60 and 30 FPS can be the difference between life and death. For a singleplayer game with comparatively little action, like L.A. Noire, the higher framerate is less crucial, but it does mean that PC gamers who invested in a high-end video card will have their performance artificially bottlenecked. Do you care that the PC version of L.A. Noire is locked at 30 FPS?
